Alice Fanari PhD
My research interests are at the intersections of intercultural, intergroup, interpersonal, and family communication, with a particular focus on the communication practices of international sojourners. My dissertation research explores the communication practices of parents and students after the student returns home from studying abroad. I am a mixed-methods scholar employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods in my work. I am the lead author on numerous articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, including Human Communication Research, Journal of Family Communication, Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, and International Journal of Intercultural Relations.
I have many years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a variety of communication courses, including qualitative research methods, intercultural communication, and public speaking.Â
